Quick Tips for Enhanced Automatic Image Placement
With the recent update to our Automatic Image Placement feature, there are a couple of changes you should be on the lookout for.
Chipply Database Products: Legacy vs Location
Products within the Chipply database will be attached to either 1 of 2 Processes: Legacy or Location. Any product attached to the Location process has been updated to utilize our enhanced Automatic Image Placement feature. Products labeled Legacy are not currently utilizing this feature. However, we are continuously updating products in the database to the location process.
When adding both a Legacy product and a Location product to your store attached to the same NEW process, make sure to give them the exact same name (see image below). This will create 1 New Process and add all items to it.
Update the Artwork Location!
You will want to make sure to update the Artwork Location inside of the Processes. This is very important because if you don't, the artwork will not show up on the products that have our new enhanced Artwork Location.
To update the artwork location on a product:
1) click Processes on the left-hand menu
2) Click Edit Definition
3) Under the Artwork Location, change it to the appropriate Artwork Location
Products and Processes from Previous Stores
Processes and products on your previous stores within Chipply will all be defaulted to the Legacy Process. When copying a previous store, all of the original artwork placements will come across for you. In this case, you won't have to make any Artwork Location updates.
However, you will have an additional change to make to your previous Process if you are adding new products from the database listed as Location.
When adding these new products to an old Process (with a Legacy Artwork Location) they will initially show up in your store with no artwork on the product. They will also display the yellow alert. When this happens, you will simply need to update your Process from Legacy to whatever Artwork Location it actually is (example, Full Front). This will then fill the full front box on all of your newly added products, and will also remove the yellow alert.
Lastly, the only other time you will see the yellow alert symbol is when you have a Process with a specific Artwork Location and a product without that Artwork Location box is added to it. For instance, you will see the yellow error if you add a pair of pants to a Full Front Process. This alerts you that this item does not have the specified location and that you should either add the artwork box to the image or in this case, change the Process of the pant.
