See below for a step-by-step guide on removing the background of an artwork with LunaPic.
- Save your file as JPG or PNG. If you received the logo in a PDF format, you may need to use your snipping tool to save the file.
- Go to LunaPic.com.
- Click Upload in the top left corner.
- Choose the JPG or PNG from your computer and upload it.
- To remove the background color and make it transparent, hover your mouse over the Edit tab and then choose Transparent Background (at the bottom).
- Once Transparent Background has been chosen, you can click anywhere you consider the background of the image to remove the color. You will then see light and dark grey squares where the background has been removed.
- In order to save this change, you will need to click Apply, but there are other changes you can make first.
- If you want to remove ALL of one color (example: all white), then change the mode from Transparent Area to Transparent Color. This will remove ALL of that color from the image.
- If you need to remove the background color, but that color is somewhere on the image and needs to stay, then keep the mode set as Transparent Area. For example, you would do this if you needed to remove the white background of a logo that has a volleyball somewhere in it. This will remove the white from the background, but not from the volleyball.
- When utilizing Transparent Area, you may need to use the Transparent Background tool a couple of times in order to fully remove all parts of the background (especially in letters).

- In order to get the largest image possible in Chipply, we want to remove the extra space around the image and make sure the logo is touching all edges.

- Lastly, you have to save the image. To do so, you can either click Save below the Add a Caption feature (just below your image). The image will go directly to your downloads and will be given a unique name by LunaPic. Or you can right-click and save the image. This will allow you to save it to the location of your choice on your computer. This will also allow you to name it whatever you’d like.
