12/27/2022 Tuesday Tip - Add Notes to the Sorting Lists & Packing Slips

Add Notes to the Sorting Lists & Packing Slips

Chipply gives you the ability to add notes to the Sorting Lists and Packing Slips for your store. This is great in case you ever want to relay information to the customer about backordered products or if you need to add any sort of note on the Sorting Lists and Packing Slips.

There are 2 different types of notes: a Sort Sheet Note and a Packing Slip Note.

Sort Sheet Note:

The Sort Sheet Note displays on the Sorting Lists and is mostly for internal use, to relay information to the person that is sorting the order. This is great for noting substitutions, backorders, and reorders.

Sort Sheet Note Example: Item is BO’d until 2/1. Mail to customer when complete.

Packing Slip Note:

The Packing Slip Note displays on the Packing Slip that you give to the customer. This can contain similar information about backorders, etc., but can also give more information specifically for the customer.

Packing Slip Note Example: Your item is backordered until Mid-February. We will mail this item to you when it is complete.

To Add Notes to the Sorting Lists and Packing Slips:

1) Click Backorders/ Substitutions on the left-hand menu.

2) Under the Product drop-down filter, choose the product you want to add the note to. You can also utilize the color and size filters if necessary.

3) Once you've located the specific item, you can type your notes in the corresponding Sort Sheet Note and Packing Slip Note boxes. Click Apply Changes when done.

4) If you want to add a note to a batch of orders, you can either click the select all button or individually select the items. Then, click either the blue SORT NOTE button or the blue PACKING SLIP button and add your note to all the selected items. Click Apply Changes when done.

The notes that you add will be highlighted on Sorting Lists/Packing Slips.
